There's so much more to your story than where you've been.

The strength to begin again is already within you. You deserve a place where that strength can grow.

Plain words.

No fine print, and no adjectives doing the work of facts. Here is what Aurora is, and what it is not, side by side.

What Aurora is

  • Sober housing for people in recovery.
  • Run in alignment with the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) standard.
  • A home where residents choose to live together in a supportive environment.
  • Opening January 2027 in East Hartford, Connecticut.

What Aurora is not

  • Not a treatment provider.
  • Not licensed or certified to provide substance use disorder treatment services.
  • Not a medical facility.
  • No clinical services of any kind.

Connecticut Disclosure: C.G.S. § 17a-716(c)

This home (A) is not licensed or certified to provide substance use disorder treatment services, and (B) is a type of housing in which individuals recovering from a substance use disorder voluntarily choose to live together in a supportive environment during their recovery.

About Aurora

A company built at home, in East Hartford

Aurora Health Ventures was founded on a simple conviction: recovery is hard to sustain without a stable place to live. Structure, consistency, and a home that is inspected and kept in order are not extras. They are the foundation everything else is built on.

Aurora is a Connecticut recovery residence company, designed for the long term and built to run cleanly, without relying on heroics. East Hartford is our home. Our first recovery residence opens here in January 2027. Aurora is also preparing a response for Supportive Recovery Housing Services (SRHS), the ABH RFQC for DMHAS, due November 30, 2026; no contract is held. We are preparing carefully and deliberately: securing the right home, settling the resident agreement, screening and staffing, and building relationships with the town, property owners, and referral partners before the first door opens.

That pace is intentional. A residence that opens well, with house managers in place, records kept from day one, and a concern route that works, serves its residents, its street, and its town far better than one that opens fast.

Sean White, Founder and CEO

Sean White is a lifelong East Hartford resident. Aurora Health Ventures was born from firsthand experience: he brings direct lived experience to the work, and to the aim behind it, to build the kind of home he once needed. An entrepreneur and businessman by trade, he is also a published author: his book, The Sovereign Quantum Body, is a work on mental wellness and transformation. His purpose is singular, and it shows up everywhere his work does: building structures that support life. He approaches it from many angles at once, a book that rebuilds a person from first principles, a home that holds someone steady while they recover, a venture built to outlast its founder. The forms differ. The intent never does: environments where life can stabilize, strengthen, and stand on its own. Responsibility for the homes will sit with the company: house managers in the house, and an office behind them that will assign a named person to each concern.

  • East Hartford first. Our first home, our partnerships, and our community commitments begin here.
  • Prepared before opening. The resident agreement, the screening steps, and the staffing are settled before opening day.

Our Homes

Structured sober living, in a real home

The property is maintained weekly to the highest standards.

Each Aurora residence will be a house in a residential neighborhood in East Hartford: shared living with clear structure, house managers present in the home, and expectations that will be the same for everyone, every day. The people who live there will be persons seeking and sustaining long-term recovery.

What defines an Aurora home

  • A substance-free home, without exception, for every person who will live there.
  • Daily structure: shared routines, house meetings, and clear expectations agreed in writing at move-in.
  • On-site presence: house managers will be in the home, so questions and concerns will be met in person, not by voicemail.
  • Respect for the person: every resident will be a person in recovery, treated with dignity in language and in practice.

House managers will lead by example: thoroughly screened, extensively trained, and supervised in the role, with training in leadership, crisis response, and Narcan use. Managers will be selected not only for their skills and qualifications but also for their kindness and empathy, and in the house they will be expected to be consistent, respectful, calm, and fair, and to treat every resident with steady support.

Weekly inspections and minor maintenance will be carried out by trained professionals.

Property condition will be documented with photos at each inspection.

Our visits will be scheduled rather than reactive, and what we see will be reported.

Standards

Run in alignment with the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) standard

Each Aurora home will be sober housing run in alignment with the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) standard. The rules that will govern daily life are named on this page and will be applied the same way in every home: screening before move-in, house meetings, guest policies and quiet evenings, and a resident agreement signed before anyone moves in. Certification through CTARR is built into our operating plan, pursued once our home is open and occupied. It is our first milestone after opening.

Substance-Free Home

Every Aurora home will be substance-free. The expectation is stated plainly before move-in and will be held consistently for everyone.

Screening Before Move-In

Screening happens before move-in: a conversation with the person, and a check against written criteria about fit, readiness, and the home's rules.

House Meetings

Regular house meetings will keep daily life orderly, raise concerns early, and keep expectations shared by the whole household.

Guest Policies & Quiet Evenings

Written policies for guests and for quiet evenings will protect everyone's rest, privacy, and sense of home. Evenings in the home will be kept quiet and considerate, as a house rule set out in writing before move-in.

Written Resident Agreement

Every resident will sign a written resident agreement before move-in. Nothing important will be left to assumption.

Resident Rights & Grievance Route

Resident rights will be stated in the resident agreement, and there will be a clear route to raise a concern, have it acknowledged, and be told the next steps.

Aurora Health Ventures provides housing and structure. We work alongside, never in place of, the providers and supports each person chooses for their own recovery.

For Property Owners

One corporate tenant. Predictable rent. No resident management.

Your rent does not depend on our occupancy.

Through our master lease partnership, Aurora Health Ventures will lease your property directly as a single corporate tenant. You will hold one lease, with one company, and one point of contact. We will handle everything that happens inside the home.

Rent paid in full

Under our master lease, we commit to paying rent in full regardless of occupancy. Your income will not rise and fall with the number of residents in the home.

3-month rent reserve

Under our master lease, we commit to maintaining a rent reserve of three months, so your rent is protected even if circumstances change.

36-month master lease

A 36-month term with renewal options, a long, stable tenancy instead of short, uncertain ones.

Utilities covered

Under our master lease, utilities will be covered by the company, including water and sewer. No utility accounts will land on the owner.

Damage escrow

Under our master lease, we commit to holding a dedicated damage escrow for the property, so ordinary wear concerns have a funded answer.

Handled directly by the company

Leases, records, and payments are handled directly by Aurora Health Ventures, not through a portal. Questions go to a named person at the company, reached through the contact form on this page. You are informed without being involved.

Professional management

The home will be managed day to day by the company: residents, upkeep, and the condition of the house will be our responsibility. Day-to-day upkeep and tenant-caused damage will sit with the operator, and every property will be cleaned and reset at the end of each tenancy.

Additional Insured

Under our master lease, the owner will be named as Additional Insured on the company's liability coverage for the property. The certificate will be delivered before possession, on request.

Questions to ask any operator.

Ask these of any operator you are considering, including us. Here are our answers, in writing.

Who signs the lease?

Aurora Health Ventures LLC is the tenant, one named company on one master lease.

Are you certified?

Not yet, and be careful with anyone who says otherwise this early: certification through CTARR is pursued once our home is open and occupied, because the process starts at occupancy.

Can I see the insurance?

Under our master lease, the owner will be named as Additional Insured, and the certificate will be delivered before possession, on request.

What happens if the house is not full?

Your rent does not depend on our occupancy. Under our master lease, we commit to paying rent in full, backed by a rent reserve of three months.

Who takes care of the property?

The responsibility split is printed on this page: upkeep, utilities, and daily care are ours; structure and ownership decisions stay yours.

What if a neighbor complains?

Neighbor concerns are directed to the house manager and handled by the company, not by you. The office behind the house manager assigns a named person to the concern and deals directly with the neighbor who raised it.

Can I speak with owners you already work with?

Our first home opens January 2027. References begin with our first placement, and they will be published here.

What are the house rules?

The house rules are published on this site under Standards, and every resident will sign the resident agreement before move-in.

For Referral Partners

A clear path from referral to move-in

One form. Acknowledged within one business day.

Use the contact form below and choose “Referral partner.” Share only the non-sensitive essentials: the town, the timing, and the kind of housing needed. Anything sensitive is shared in conversation after first contact, never in the form.

02

We review together

We review the referral with you promptly, ask anything we need to judge fit honestly, and tell you plainly if we are not the right home.

03

Screening & move-in

If the fit is right, we complete screening before move-in and set expectations in a written resident agreement, so the person arrives knowing exactly what to expect.

For Families & Residents

Honest expectations, in writing

Written rules before move-in, not after.

Choosing a home for yourself or someone you love deserves straight answers. Here is what you can expect from us, and what life in an Aurora home asks in return.

Who the home serves, and fees, in plain words: The first home will serve adults in recovery. Fees and the resident agreement are provided in writing before move-in.

What we will provide when the first home opens: a substance-free home, inspected weekly; daily structure; house meetings; house managers present in the home; and every policy (guests, quiet evenings, and shared responsibilities) in writing before move-in.

What we ask: a commitment to a substance-free home, respect for housemates and neighbors, and participation in the shared life of the house. If a return to use occurs, our response follows the written resident agreement, handled with dignity, and with the safety of the whole household in view.

What we will never do: surprise you. Costs, expectations, and rights are discussed openly and put in the written resident agreement. Families are welcome to ask questions at any point, before, during, or after a decision.

Good Neighbor Commitment

Kept like any other household on its street

Someone accountable in the house, not a phone number you call if something goes wrong.

An Aurora home should be the kind of house a street is glad to have. That commitment is published here, for every neighbor, on every street an Aurora home will join.

Smoking

Smoking will take place only in a designated outdoor area, kept tidy, and never on the sidewalk or a neighbor's edge of the street.

Quiet & Considerate

No loitering in front of the home, and language and noise will be kept considerate at all hours; evenings will be kept quiet, and that quiet will be a house rule, not a suggestion.

Cleanliness & Upkeep

The house, yard, and grounds will be kept tidy in every season.

Parking

Resident and guest parking will follow the house parking policy, arranged to keep the street clear and neighbors' access unobstructed.

Where a Concern Goes

Neighbors' concerns go to the house manager. The office behind the house manager will give you the name and contact details of the person assigned to your concern. Send a concern through the contact form below and choose “Town or community.” A person reads every message sent through the form, and concerns are acknowledged within one business day.

How a Concern Is Handled

We commit to acknowledging any complaint within one business day, confirming receipt of your concern and the next steps. You will be informed of the outcome, actions taken, and any follow-up measures.

What the form collects, and why

The form asks for your name and one way to reach you, so we can answer you. It asks who you are writing as, a resident or family member, a property owner, a referral partner, or a member of the community, and, depending on that choice, a small number of details that belong to that kind of inquiry, such as a property's town or the organization you write from. Your message itself is yours to word. We use these details for one purpose only: to read your inquiry, judge how we can help, and acknowledge it within one business day.

How long we keep an inquiry

We keep a submission only as long as we need it to answer and manage your inquiry. When we no longer need it, we remove it. If you would like your inquiry removed, write to us through the form and say so, and we will remove it.
